The City of Colbert maintains cemetery areas outside of coping and graveled areas. Cemetery grass is generally cut and trimmed approximately once every ten days during the spring and summer. After the fall season begins, maintenance is performed as needed.
Personal items may be placed on gravesites at the owner’s discretion. However, the City of Colbert does not maintain these items and is not responsible for items that are lost, damaged, or disturbed during cemetery maintenance.
Cemetery plots must be purchased and paid for in person at Colbert City Hall. Payments may be made by cash, check, or card.
After a cemetery plot is purchased, the purchaser will receive the applicable deed documents. These documents should be recorded as instructed and kept in a safe place.
To transfer or re-deed a cemetery plot, please visit Colbert City Hall. City staff will review the request and provide the appropriate transfer information.
For cemetery purchases, deed transfers, or additional information, please contact Colbert City Hall at (706) 788-2311 or visit us at 60 W. First Avenue, Colbert, Georgia.
City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
